About

Scott Stooksberry has been Hill Gilstrap’s lead transactional attorney for over 15 years.  He has extensive experience in complex business transactions as well as business litigation. His experience in business litigation, allows him to anticipate complications that might arise in any complex transaction. “Realizing the different perspectives allows us to create a clear, accurate contract that will prevent litigation or mitigate the risks of future litigation.”  In his more than two decades of practice, he has represented buyers, sellers, lenders, borrowers, landlords, plaintiffs and defendants, in connection with various transactions and business litigation matters involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference, shareholder oppression, non-competition, and other business torts.  He has been the lead attorney for clients in several multi-million dollar business transactions and has been involved in the representation of clients in litigation and arbitration resulting in favorable multi-million dollar verdicts, awards, and settlements. Outside of work, Scott is actively involved in the local arts community, and in particular with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, where he is member of the Director’s Council. Scott is an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and Texas Aggies.  He enjoys golf and family activities and spends as much time as he can with his wife, Lori, a landscape architect, and their son, Wilson, an active little league baseball player.
